New Egypt–European Scientific Cooperation Programmes Coming Soon: EU Ambassador

The European Union and Egypt recently marked 20 years of successful scientific cooperation, an achievement celebrated by EU Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst in Cairo. This milestone underscores the strong and lasting partnership between the two regions, originally established through the EU-Egypt Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement.

This agreement has been fundamental in facilitating joint scientific research and innovation, enabling Egyptian and European scientists to collaborate on projects beneficial to both sides. Over the past two decades, progress has been significant in areas such as:

  • Health
  • Agriculture
  • Technology

Ambassador Eichhorst highlighted the importance of science and technology as drivers of sustainable development and economic growth. The partnership has enhanced not only research capabilities but also educational and institutional strength within Egypt.

At the anniversary event, new cooperation programmes were announced, with plans to initiate them soon. These initiatives will:
