A new study titled “Youth in Germany 2025” reveals a surprisingly optimistic outlook among young Germans regarding their future. Surveying individuals aged 14 to 29, the study found that 65% of them are optimistic about their personal future, which is a rise from 62% the previous year.
Key findings from the research include increased satisfaction with both physical and mental health among young people. They also feel more confident about their career opportunities and social recognition. However, their views on their financial situation remain unchanged.
The study also dispels common myths about youth laziness by highlighting that 81% of young workers hold full-time jobs, a figure that surpasses that of older generations.
In terms of personal support systems, many young Germans draw strength from:
- Family
- Relationships
- Personal goals
Interestingly, religion and nature are not widely relied upon as support sources. Additionally, political issues and concerns about social unity are notable worries among the youth.
This research offers a refreshed perspective on the hopes and challenges faced by young people in Germany today.
