Lyon, France – The France One Global Health (FrOGH) network held its inaugural forum in early 2025 at the WHO Academy campus. Launched in December 2024 during the Global Health Festival in Lyon, the FrOGH network aims to unite major academic and hospital stakeholders focused on global health within France. These key players collaborate extensively with global partners to address worldwide health challenges.
The first FrOGH forum provided a platform for experts to discuss pressing health issues. Several sessions featured presentations by WHO Academy staff on critical topics such as One Health, which connects human, animal, and environmental health, and urban health challenges faced by growing city populations.
The network’s creation responds to the need for enhanced coordination and cooperation in global health efforts. By bringing together France’s top academic institutions and hospitals, FrOGH seeks to facilitate:
- Knowledge sharing
- Research collaboration
- Policy dialogue on health issues impacting populations at home and abroad
During the event, participants exchanged insights on innovative strategies to tackle:
- Infectious diseases
- Environmental health risks
- The impact of urbanization on public health
The WHO Academy campus offered a state-of-the-art venue equipped with advanced technology to support interactive discussions and workshops.
Representatives from various sectors highlighted the importance of integrating multidisciplinary approaches to improve health outcomes globally. This collaboration between academia, healthcare providers, and international organizations aims to accelerate progress towards sustainable health solutions.
The forum marked a significant milestone for France’s commitment to global health. Future events are planned to expand the network’s reach and enhance the collective response to emerging health threats. The FrOGH initiative underscores France’s leadership in fostering international partnerships for health research and action.
