Euro NCAP and Data for Road Safety (DFRS) have formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at improving road safety across Europe. This agreement was reached during the 16th ITS European Congress 2025, held in Seville and organized by ERTICO-ITS and the City of Seville.
The primary goal of this partnership is to combine the strengths of both organizations:
- Euro NCAP’s expertise in vehicle safety ratings
- DFRS’s data-driven approach to analyzing and enhancing road safety
Through the sharing of data and joint development of safety projects, Euro NCAP and DFRS aspire to:
- Reduce the number of accidents on European roads
- Save lives by promoting safer driving environments
- Support the development of innovative safety technologies
- Improve vehicle safety assessment methods
Officials from both organizations emphasized the crucial role of real-world data and advanced analytics in tackling the complex challenges associated with road safety. This collaboration represents a significant advancement in ongoing European efforts to ensure safer journeys for all citizens.
