Seville Sees Euro NCAP & DFRS Team Up for Safer European Roads

Euro NCAP and Data for Road Safety (DFRS) have formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at improving road safety across Europe. This agreement was reached during the 16th ITS European Congress 2025, held in Seville and organized by ERTICO-ITS and the City of Seville.

The primary goal of this partnership is to combine the strengths of both organizations:

• Euro NCAP’s expertise in vehicle safety ratings
• DFRS’s data-driven approach to analyzing and enhancing road safety

Through the sharing of data and joint development of safety projects, Euro NCAP and DFRS aspire to:

1. Reduce the number of accidents on European roads
2. Save lives by promoting safer driving environments
3. Support the development of innovative safety technologies
4. Improve vehicle safety assessment methods

Officials from both organizations emphasized the crucial role of real-world data and advanced analytics in tackling the complex challenges associated with road safety. This collaboration represents a significant advancement in ongoing European efforts to ensure safer journeys for all citizens.
